The BBG would like to thank members and guests for attending the successful launched of the Women in Business (WiB). For those who missed it please click on this link to hear the inspiring words from BBG UAE Alliances Director, Lubna Qassim, one of UAE’s high achieving Emirati women. As well as BBG’s UAE Alliances Director, Lubna is the Executive Vice President, Group Company Secretary and the General Counsel of Emirates NBD Bank (PJSC).
The
BBG Women in Business (WIB) focus group was formed with a primary aim to
encourage and support women in all aspects of business and leadership. The
plans for the group are:
* To
provide support to a dynamic, diverse and ambitious group of women who are
pursuing professional careers in business - building upon and diversifying from
the existing strength of the BBG.
* To
provide opportunities for networking and contact-building across the BBG
membership - actively helping members to make the contacts that they want to
make for business and personal professional growth.
* To
provide relevant insights from influential and inspirational business leaders.
* To
provide development opportunities for BBG members to help them to fulfil their
aspirations in a competitive business marketplace.
* To
support positive change initiatives and effective working policies for women in
business.
* To
embrace gender equality by making this group ‘inclusive’ and open for men and
women to attend and actively contribute.
The WIB focus group would love to hear of ideas for topics and speakers from members. Please email BBG on [email protected] with your thoughts (for example discussions on UAE quotas for women on the board, the UAE Gender Balance Council, the challenges of finding Board-ready women, encouraging women to embrace careers in business alongside family commitments etc.)
